Love Comes In 3's

Hearts EVERYWHERE!

I know, I know on this day of Hallmark love I'm here to flood your day with more hearts. Embarrassingly enough I started this project two years ago as part of my "Music Inspires Art" project and just NOW have gotten around to finishing it. This one hit home so I had to make sure they were done right.

This is NOT it. This was attempt number one.

The song "3's" by Nodaway inspired this piece. I was actually able to reach out and talk with him about what the song meant to him and how he felt when writing it. So HUGE shout out to taking the time to speak with me. I absolutely love when artists come together to share their experiences.

So naturally I had to create three of them to represent each phase. Originally I was going to create these dark backgrounds for each but minimalism for the win. I like the stark white with the texture of the hearts, each slightly different, subtle, and personal.

Round 3, none of them matched. — Round 3, none of them matched.

The reason this project was so overdue (other than the obvious reason of procrastination) is each time I would do a heart, I would improve and make it better. So then I would have to go back to match the other two. I believe I repainted them all 4 times trying to get it just right. I wanted them to be as similar as possible, not quite exact like a print would be. They needed to be symbolic of the same love, the same person but subtle little shifts like we all have in our own personal relationships.

So no matter what you're doing this Valentine's Day just remember you're always welcome in The Lonely Hearts Club. You can choose to wallow that you won't get an expensive oversized teddy bear OR you can go out, create something, get inspired and enjoy the discount chocolate!
